A developer is moving forward with a plan to turn a neglected north beach into a hotel and office complex.
The resort and restaurant-style complex, located on a peninsula just north of the city, will be the third such hotel and restaurant project in the city.
The project is still in the early stages of development, but plans for the beachfront property and the hotel are currently being developed.
Development of the site was approved by the city last summer.
The city and developer, Hodge Bros., said the hotel will be located near the entrance of the Boca Raton Beach Trail, which connects the city’s northern shore to the south.
The hotel, which will have hotel rooms and an indoor swimming pool, will also have retail space.
The development will also include parking for the new hotel and a clubhouse.
Hodge’s plan to redevelop the site includes an outdoor pool, outdoor gym and a swimming pool.
“It’s a beautiful spot for the city to come together,” said Hodge spokeswoman Julie Lebron.
“This will be a wonderful addition to the city and the surrounding area.”
The city approved the project in May 2016, but the development is still being finalized and the City Council is expected to approve it during its April 20 meeting.
Development is expected for next year.
